In the market, prices varied by region, ranging from 85 to 90 pounds per kilogram.
The Egyptian government is working to support small and large producers, as well as open new export markets in Arab, African, and international countries. This comes after Egypt was approved as one of the countries that apply the isolated poultry farm system, according to the World Organisation for Animal Health (WOAH) regulations.
The poultry sector in Egypt comprises over 27,000 diverse farms, including those producing table eggs, broiler chickens, parent stock, and companies specializing in producing parent and grandparent stock. According to Agriculture Minister Alaa Farouk, these farms contribute significantly to the country's food security and economy.
In the general poultry stock exchange, prices for white chicken reached 68 pounds per kilogram, while Saso chicken prices increased to 105 pounds per kilogram. The price of white parent stock was 70 pounds per kilogram at the farm. The government aims to accelerate the opening of new markets to absorb the surplus local production.
Various poultry stock exchanges reported similar prices, with Mohamed Adel's exchange listing white chicken at 68 pounds, and the price of Saso chicken at 105 pounds per kilogram. The price of white chick reached 22-25 pounds, while Saso chick prices ranged between 19-20 pounds.
The Ministry of Agriculture is working to provide easy financing for breeders in cooperation with the National Bank of Egypt and the Agricultural Bank of Egypt. This aims to support the purchase of production requirements, such as feed, chicks, medicines, and veterinary vaccines, and to develop breeding rooms.
