The National Council for Women, led by head Amal Ammar, participated in the 8th Arab Business Women's Council meeting at the Arab League headquarters. In her speech, Ammar expressed her delight in attending the meeting at the Arab League headquarters, describing it as a symbol of Arab unity. She emphasized the importance of empowering women economically, citing the need for Arab countries to work together to promote women's participation in the economy. Ammar also highlighted the Egyptian state's efforts to empower women, led by President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi, and the launch of the National Strategy for Empowering Egyptian Women 2030.
Ammar stressed that empowering women economically is no longer just a development goal but a strategic necessity for achieving comprehensive growth and social stability. She noted that Arab women are now not only business owners or investors but also a productive economic force, partners in decision-making, and essential elements in driving innovation, creating jobs, and enhancing national economies' competitiveness.
The National Council for Women has played a pivotal role in converting national policies into tangible economic opportunities through capacity-building programs, qualifying women for the labor market, supporting entrepreneurship, and promoting financial culture and inclusion. The council has successfully qualified over 380,000 women in project management and established 52 production and training units.
The council's efforts have also focused on supporting women's access to external markets through the "She Trades" program. Ammar concluded her speech by wishing the Arab Business Women's Council continued success and all Arab businesswomen further progress and achievements. The meeting discussed several topics related to supporting businesswomen and enhancing cooperation and networking among Arab entrepreneurs.
The event was attended by several officials, including Egyptian Foreign Minister's representative for Economic Affairs and Development Marwa Lashin, Economic Advisor to the President Hala El-Said, and Arab League Secretary-General Nabil El-Arabi. Other attendees included Amani Esfor, a member of the National Council for Women, and representatives from various Egyptian and Arab organizations.
