Egypt's General Authority for Investment and Free Zones has reported that 1524 new companies were established in 2025 through its investor services center in Gamusa, Damietta governorate. The authority's executive president, Dr. Mohamed Awad, emphasized the importance of promoting and raising awareness among those working at investor service centers. The digital transformation plan has also reduced the number of documents required from investors, allowing for more space to enhance the promotional role of the centers. Dr. Awad stressed that the authority will continue to improve the efficiency of human resources to keep pace with technical development. This includes training and preparing them to contribute to attracting new investments, solving investors' problems, and providing necessary proposals to develop the investment environment.
The investor services center in Gamusa was inspected by Dr. Mohamed Farid Saleh, Minister of Investment and Foreign Trade, to follow up on the implementation of ministry decisions to facilitate investors. The center provides services to around 12,500 companies in Damietta, Kafr El Sheikh, and Dakahlia governorates. These services include establishment and licensing, as well as technical and legal services after establishment and throughout the company's lifetime.
The center has representatives from several government and syndicate entities concerned with investment, including the Internal Trade Development Authority and the General Authority for Industrial Development. Dr. Farid Saleh emphasized the need to inform investors and their agents about new services provided by the ministry and efforts in digital transformation. He also highlighted the importance of preparing updated reports on local and foreign investment data.
During his visit, Dr. Farid Saleh met with representatives of the business community in Dakahlia governorate. They discussed ways to develop the business environment in the governorate, which has significant opportunities and capabilities. These include a strategic location near major ports, a large workforce, and a strong industrial base that can be developed.
The minister and the authority's president asserted their openness to proposals from the business community to improve the business environment in the governorate. The investor services center in Gamusa has been successful in establishing 1524 companies in 2025.
