The 82nd Cairo International Fashion Fair, also known as Cairo Fashion & Tex, is scheduled to take place from October 2 to 4. The event will be held at the Cairo International Conference Center, covering an area of 40,000 square meters. This year's fair will feature over 850 local and international brands in the ready-made clothing, fabric, and production supplies sectors.

The event is organized by the Egyptian Ministry of Industry and the Ready-Made Clothing Chamber of the Egyptian Federation of Industries. According to Dr. Mohamed Sharif, the organizer of the event, the fair aims to enhance commercial communication between Egyptian companies and international buyers. The event will host over 1,000 visitors and buyers from 18 countries, including Libya, Algeria, Jordan, Palestine, Morocco, Tunisia, Lebanon, Brazil, Sweden, Iraq, Italy, Saudi Arabia, Turkey, Yemen, Indonesia, and Spain.

The participating countries include Egypt, Turkey, China, India, Pakistan, France, and Hong Kong, showcasing a diverse range of products and materials. The fair will cover various aspects of the clothing and textile industry, from spinning and weaving to production supplies and finished products. Dr. Sharif emphasized that the event provides a platform for Egyptian companies to showcase their products and production capabilities to international buyers.

The export sector is a key focus of the current edition, with the aim of providing Egyptian companies with direct opportunities to exhibit their products and understand the requirements of target markets. The meetings between companies and buyers will help establish new trade relationships and identify market needs in terms of products, materials, and specifications. This will enable Egyptian companies to develop their products and expand their customer base abroad.

The event's program includes workshops and specialized sessions over the three-day period, focusing on the integration of art and design. Notable artists, including Mohamed Tharwat, Mai Salem, and Bashra, will participate in the workshops. Additionally, the fair will feature keynote sessions on "Developing the Egyptian Industry and Supporting Exports" to discuss opportunities for growth and entrepreneurship.

According to Dr. Mohamed Abdel Salam, head of the Ready-Made Clothing Chamber of the Egyptian Federation of Industries, Egypt's ready-made clothing exports reached $2.14 billion in the first seven months of 2026, up 14% from the same period in 2025. He attributed the growth to the efforts of Egyptian companies and government policies supporting exporters.

The sector aims to continue growing its exports, targeting $4 billion by the end of 2026, up from $3.4 billion in 2025. Abdel Salam emphasized the importance of participating in international exhibitions and direct meetings with buyers to understand market needs and develop Egyptian products accordingly.
