The Mauritanian Food Security Commission distributed food aid to 37 families affected by recent rains and storms in the village of Tantarama, in the Fm Lakhlite municipality of the Ambed region in the Korcool state. The distribution was supervised by the governor of the Ambed region, Mohamed Moktare Ould Mohamedou Achfaga Anour, and the regional delegate of the Food Security Commission at the state level, Mohamed Abdallah Ould Ajid.
The aid consisted of over four tons of basic food items, including rice, sugar, and cooking oil. The distribution was carried out in the presence of military and security leaders in the region. The governor added that the state, in implementation of the directives of President Mohamed Ould Cheikh El Ghazouani, will remain close to citizens and intervene whenever needed, especially for vulnerable groups.
