The Comprehensive High School, Ilutitun Old Students' Association has started activities to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the school. The school's impact is evident in the success of its alumni. The week-long anniversary program includes environmental sanitation, a football match, tree and flower planting, and a health talk. The CHS@50 Lecture and other activities, such as an AI and digital training program for teachers, are also planned.
The anniversary celebration will feature several events, including the CHS Novelty Match, tagged "The Old versus The New," and the Golden Jubilee Anniversary ceremony. A new Legacy School Gate and the CHSIOSA Corpers' Lodge will be dedicated. An awards ceremony, fundraising and luncheon, and the Golden Jubilee Dinner and Networking event are also scheduled. The anniversary activities will conclude with a Thanksgiving Service on October 4 at the Cathedral of Ebenezer.
Comrade Yemi Akinsuyi, Chairman of the Golden Jubilee Publicity Committee, emphasized the significance of the anniversary, describing it as a reflection of the school's heritage and a renewed commitment to its future. Rev. Dr. Sunday Akingbelure and Dr. Olorunyomi Akinboyo, Chairmen of the Anniversary Fundraising and Planning Committee, appealed to the association members and the public to support the school financially.
