The University of Bondoukou has set an ambitious goal to achieve a success rate of 90 to 95% by the end of the 2026-2027 academic year. This announcement was made by the university's president, Pr Ouattara Djakalia, during the academic year's opening ceremony held on September 28. He emphasized that this target is achievable through effective organization of teachings, adherence to deadlines, and the involvement of qualified teachers.
According to Pr Ouattara Djakalia, the university's success rate has been steadily increasing over the years. In the 2025-2026 academic year, the university recorded a global success rate of 95.8%, with 1,837 students admitted out of a total of 1,918 students. This represents a significant improvement from the 94% success rate achieved in the 2024-2025 academic year and 83.6% in the 2023-2024 academic year.
To maintain this momentum, Pr Ouattara Djakalia expects the directors of the university's training and research units to organize teachings rigorously, in collaboration with qualified teachers. He stressed the importance of continually improving the university's performance indicators. The president also called on students to play an active role in their academic journey, encouraging them to be diligent, punctual, and solidary.
Pr Ouattara Djakalia highlighted the significance of the university's library, which boasts over 10,000 books, 15 online resource access points, and more than 47,000 digital books. He invited students to make the library their "second home," emphasizing that "the student who reads a lot is the student who becomes the genius of their generation."
The university's opening ceremony also featured an inaugural lecture delivered by Pr Abou Fofana, director of higher education at the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research. The lecture focused on the License-Master-Doctorate (LMD) system, explaining its principles, unit capitalization, university mobility, and compensation mechanisms to new students.
Pr Abou Fofana's lecture aimed to help new students understand the requirements of higher education and build their academic path with more references. The LMD system is designed to provide students with a clear understanding of their academic progression and to facilitate their mobility within the university.
The University of Bondoukou's efforts to improve its success rate and provide students with a supportive learning environment are ongoing.
