International Lifeline Fund, a non-profit international humanitarian organization with its head office in Washington D.C, is seeking a Program Director to lead its programs and projects in Lira, Uganda. The organization works with local partners and communities to improve the quality of life of the underprivileged by expanding access to clean water and energy solutions. The Program Director will provide strategic leadership, oversight, and direction for Lifeline's programs and projects.
The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring high-quality program delivery, effective use of resources, strong partnerships, accountability to communities and stakeholders, and achievement of measurable results and sustainable impact. The Program Director will direct and oversee the day-to-day design, implementation, and evaluation of all active programs, ensuring they adhere to partnership agreements, donor guidelines, and strategic objectives.
The Program Director will also be responsible for conducting extensive reviews and edits on all program reports, briefs, and presentations, ensuring quality and correctness before dissemination. Additionally, the position will support the Chief Operating Officer (COO) in developing and managing relationships with donors and potential donors, contribute to grant writing, proposal development, and the preparation of high-quality donor reports.
To qualify for the position, candidates must have a Bachelor's degree in Development Studies, Social Sciences, International Development, Public Administration, Project Management, or a related field. A Master's degree in a relevant field is highly desirable. Candidates must also have at least 10 years of progressive experience in program/project management within the NGO, humanitarian, or development sector.
The ideal candidate will have demonstrated experience managing multiple projects, teams, and donor-funded programs, as well as experience in proposal development, resource mobilization, and donor engagement. Strong knowledge of NGO program management standards and practices in Uganda is also required. The Program Director will be expected to strengthen Lifeline's relationships with relevant line Ministries, donors, and partners through regular meetings and consultations.
