The Conseil hévéa-palmier à huile-coco (CHPC) has donated four all-terrain vehicles to organizations of palm oil producers, industrialists, and the interprofessional sector. This initiative aims to strengthen their intervention capacities in the field. The beneficiaries include the Fédération nationale des coopératives et unions de coopératives des planteurs de palmier à huile de Côte d'Ivoire (FENACOPAHCI), the Association professionnelle des sociétés agricoles de palmiers de Côte d'Ivoire (APROSAPCI), the Groupement des industriels transformateurs d’huile de palme (GITHP), and the Association interprofessionnelle de la filière palmier à huile (AIPH).
The vehicle handover ceremony took place on September 28, 2026, in Abidjan. CHPC's President, Félix Anoblé, emphasized that the donation seeks to enable these organizations to provide better supervision to actors and enhance their field presence. He noted that these vehicles will facilitate the accompaniment of cooperatives, strengthen relationships between producers and industrialists, and improve interactions between distributors, collectors, and industrialists.
According to Félix Anoblé, the regular presence of these organizations in the field is crucial for providing guidance, sharing regulatory texts, and disseminating best practices to improve production. He expressed hope that the vehicles will help achieve the objectives set by the CHPC. The President also highlighted the importance of collaboration among sector actors to drive development.
Henri César Sama Damalan, President of AIPH, spoke on behalf of the beneficiaries, affirming their commitment to a development program for the palm oil sector. He noted that the vehicles will facilitate regular field visits, in synergy with all sector actors, to mobilize and motivate planters, industrialists, and agro-industrialists.
Sama Damalan also pledged to ensure rigorous maintenance of the vehicles to preserve these resources. He emphasized that the vehicles are not for tourism but for sector development. The palm oil sector in Côte d'Ivoire covers 352,918 hectares of plantations and generates an annual production of 495,918 tons of crude palm oil.
Côte d'Ivoire is the second-largest African producer of palm oil and the seventh globally. The CHPC's initiative aims to boost the sector's growth and development. By providing these vehicles, the CHPC is supporting the sector's actors in their efforts to improve production and practices.
