Thirty economic actors from various sectors, including tailoring, hairdressing, and aesthetics, have received certificates of completion for a digital marketing and simplified management training in Bouna, Côte d'Ivoire. The training, which lasted from October 26 to 28, 2026, was organized by the Community Development and Local Economy Dynamization Program (PDC-DEL) with funding from the Ministry of Planning and Development and technical support from the United Nations Development Program (UNDP).
The training aimed to enhance the competitiveness of the beneficiaries by improving their mastery of digital tools and management methods. Participants were trained in professional use of social media, creation of logos and advertising posters, and design of Facebook pages and WhatsApp Business accounts to increase the visibility of their products and services. They also learned about digital payments and the use of tools to track revenues, expenses, stocks, costs, and margins.
The skills acquired during the training are expected to enable artisans to better organize their activities, control their costs, and improve their commercial performance in an increasingly digital economic environment. The PDC-DEL program aims to strengthen local economies, productive capacities, and economic inclusion in the Bounkani and Tchologo regions. The program's component 2 focuses on supporting value chains and local entrepreneurship, particularly in sectors such as market gardening, agriculture, tailoring, hairdressing, aesthetics, and soap making.
Cissé Tenin, president of the Regional Union of Hairdressing and Aesthetics of Côte d'Ivoire (Synace-CI), was among the beneficiaries of the training. She praised the initiative of the Ministry of Planning and Development, stating that the training would help artisans boost their activities by giving more visibility to their products on social media. Tenin also expressed gratitude to the Ministry for providing them with work materials that had made them more autonomous before the training.
