The Prime Minister of Burkina Faso, Rimtalba Jean Emmanuel Ouédraogo, has launched the construction of a state-of-the-art sports hotel for the country's national teams, the Étalons. The project, valued at 25.2 billion CFAF, is expected to be completed within 15 months. The hotel will be built on an area of over eight hectares and will feature two R+5 buildings, one with 57 double suites for the A-team and the other with 300 rooms for other teams.
The sports hotel will also include a medical and paramedical center, a R+1 building, as well as spaces for food and beverage, multipurpose rooms, a gymnasium, a VAR room, locker rooms, and an omnisport plateau. Additionally, the complex will feature natural and synthetic grass football fields, tennis courts, an Olympic swimming pool, and relaxation pools. The project aims to provide a world-class facility for Burkinabé athletes to train and compete.
The Prime Minister stated that the project is a realization of the vision of President Ibrahim Traoré to develop sports in the country. He emphasized that the new facility will enable Burkinabé athletes to have a top-notch environment to express their full potential. The Minister of Sports, Youth, and Employment, Annick Pikbougoum/Zingué Ouattara, assured that her department will ensure that the project is completed on time and meets international standards.
