The Beninese government has announced the launch of the National Prize for Administrative Simplification, an initiative aimed at enhancing public services. The deposit of proposals for the prize opened on Thursday, October 29, 2026, and will continue until November 12, 2026. This was revealed during a press conference held at the Cité ministérielle de Cotonou on Wednesday, October 28, 2026.

The prize seeks to gather ideas that can make public services simpler, faster, less expensive, and more accessible to users. The Minister of Budget and Public Function, Rodrigue Chaou, and the Minister of Government Spokesperson, Wilfried Léandre Houngbédji, presented the objectives of the prize. They emphasized that modernizing the administration involves not only digitizing services but also reducing costs, streamlining procedures, and minimizing constraints faced by users.

The competition is open to all Beninese citizens, regardless of age, with minors required to obtain parental authorization to submit their ideas. Participants are encouraged to identify shortcomings in existing services, including those already digitalized, and propose suitable improvements. The evaluation of proposals will involve experts from public administration, the private sector, and civil society.

According to Valentin Sokpin, President of the Technical Organization Committee, eligible proposals will be stored in a national solution pool, whether or not they are awarded. The most relevant ideas will undergo a feasibility study, potentially leading to experimentation and implementation with the relevant administrations.

The National Prize for Administrative Simplification aims to emerge concrete solutions to difficulties encountered in public services. This initiative aligns with the transformation of Benin's administration, with the goal of offering populations more accessible, efficient, and better services adapted to their needs.

Interested citizens and stakeholders can submit their proposals on the official platform https://prix-simplification.gouv.bj. The government hopes to collect innovative ideas that can enhance the quality of public services and improve the overall experience of users.

The prize is part of the government's efforts to modernize the administration and improve the delivery of public services. By encouraging citizens to participate, the government aims to tap into the collective creativity and ingenuity of the Beninese people to build a more efficient and effective public service.
