BANGE, a leading financial institution in Equatorial Guinea, recently commemorated its 20th anniversary by organizing an educational event for students at the Universidad Nacional de Guinea Ecuatorial (UNGE). The event, attended by Valentín Pedro Manvuru, Director of Media Areas at BANGE, and Juan Pablo Obiang Bikie, General Director of BSV, aimed to promote understanding of capital markets and investment opportunities. Manvuru expressed gratitude to the students for their participation and encouraged them to take advantage of the knowledge and tools provided.
The main presentation was delivered by Evaristo Otavenga Mbula, responsible for the Market at BSV, a subsidiary of BANGE specializing in stock exchange services. Mbula's presentation focused on facilitating comprehension of capital market operations, covering topics such as the financial market and stock exchange, the structure and main actors of the CEMAC Financial Market, and the role of BSV as a financial intermediary. The presentation also explored investment and financing products available in the regional market.
Following the presentation, a Q&A session was held, during which students showed significant interest in investment opportunities in the BVMAC and mechanisms for acquiring securities in the regional financial market. BSV subsequently organized a quiz based on the presentation, and the top 10 students who answered correctly were awarded cheques of 150,000 CFA francs each to purchase shares of companies listed on the BVMAC.
Manvuru also expressed gratitude to the President of the Republic, Obiang Nguema Mbasogo, for his vision in creating BANGE and emphasized the importance of peace and stability in developing educational, economic, and financial initiatives. He acknowledged the institutional collaboration of UNGE's Rector, Filiberto Ntutumu Nguema Mangue, and congratulated BSV on the professionalism and quality of the training provided under Obiang Bikie's leadership.
The event concluded with a family photo of BANGE, BSV representatives, and students, followed by a banquet offered to participants. This initiative is part of BANGE's 20th-anniversary celebrations, which focus on educating new generations, promoting savings and investment, and introducing the CEMAC financial market to Equatoguinean society.
BANGE's efforts to promote financial literacy and education demonstrate its commitment to contributing to the development of Equatorial Guinea's economy. By targeting university students, the institution aims to equip them with the knowledge and skills necessary to participate in the country's financial sector.
The event highlights BANGE's dedication to its mission of promoting financial inclusion and education in Equatorial Guinea. As the institution continues to commemorate its 20th anniversary, it is expected to undertake further initiatives aimed at fostering economic growth and development in the country.
