Algerian Education Minister, Mohamed Séghir Saadawi, has emphasized the importance of greater harmony between the components of the educational family to protect students from exploitation and maintain school calmness. During a national symposium held via remote conferencing, the minister addressed false and misleading publications circulating on social media that aim to disrupt the existing harmony between parents and educational institutions. He stressed that the ministry encourages parents to follow up on their children's educational affairs.

Minister Saadawi lifted the lid on recent social media rumors regarding the relationship between parents and educational institutions. He clarified that the follow-up of children's educational progress is an important matter encouraged by the ministry, but the determination of who takes charge of this aspect depends on the agreement between parents in normal circumstances. In exceptional cases, existing regulations are applied. The minister also highlighted the need to strengthen the school's openness to its environment and consolidate bridges of communication and consultation with parents' associations.

The Ministry of National Education has issued a statement affirming that following up on students' educational progress and their scientific achievement, discipline, and educational behavior is a shared institutional responsibility. The ministry welcomes parents into all its educational institutions as partners in achieving the required comfort and discipline for students within educational institutions. The ministry also denied issuing publications indicating that mothers are prohibited from following up on their children's affairs in educational institutions.

Minister Saadawi pointed out that events in some countries have revealed the reality of their educational situation and highlighted the value of the increasing care provided by the Algerian state to the educational climate. This, he stressed, requires greater mobilization and solidarity from the components of the educational family to protect the educational climate and maintain calmness in institutions. He also highlighted the value of the government's increasing expenditure on education, which aligns with demographic development.

The minister gave instructions to monitor the equipment of educational institutions, particularly new ones, with scientific equipment for laboratories in subjects such as natural sciences, physics, engineering, mathematics, and arts. He also emphasized the importance of monitoring the actual connection of new teachers to their institutions and their continuation in performing their duties. The minister ordered directors of education to continue monitoring the operations related to the school entry and work on completing them within the specified deadlines.

The Ministry of National Education has called on all parents to seek information about the relationship between them and the educational institution from the ministry's official website or the official pages of education directorates. The ministry emphasized that the school and family are partners in education and that everyone's goal is to ensure the interest of students and their academic success. Algeria has been ranked second globally in terms of government spending on education, according to the World Intellectual Property Organization.

The minister's statements come at a time when the country is focusing on improving its education sector. Recent developments include the extension of deadlines for studying requests for the reintegration of students and the opening of registrations for the "صنعة 2" program through a digital platform. Additionally, 937 innovative university projects were selected for financing, with a total value of 1.18 billion dinars, to convert them into marketable models.
