Algeria's Minister of Public Works and Basic Infrastructure, Abdelkader Djellaoui, has launched a comprehensive program to develop and modernize the country's road network. As part of this initiative, 95 projects have been planned across 24 wilayas, covering a total distance of 853.5 km. This program aims to improve the connectivity and accessibility of various regions in Algeria.
The program includes the completion of 56 projects spanning 464.5 km and the commencement of 39 new projects covering 389 km. These projects are designed to enhance the road network, promote regional development, and improve safety. The initiative is part of a broader plan to upgrade and maintain Algeria's road infrastructure.
One of the key projects inaugurated by Minister Djellaoui was the modernization of the Douaouda-Bou Ismail expressway in Tipaza, which spans 10 kilometers. The project involved the construction of a bitumen-coated road, a central concrete median, and the expansion of existing infrastructure. The upgraded expressway is expected to ease traffic congestion and reduce travel times between Algiers and Tipaza.
The modernized expressway is anticipated to have a significant impact on the local economy and tourism industry. By reducing travel times and improving road safety, the project aims to stimulate economic growth and promote Tipaza as a tourist destination. The region is known for its beautiful coastline and historical sites.
In addition to the expressway project, Minister Djellaoui inspected the construction of an interchange on the Bou Ismail-Cherchell expressway in Tipaza. The project involves building a 1.2 km infrastructure to increase traffic capacity and optimize connections to the highway. The minister instructed the responsible authorities to expedite the work to ensure timely completion.
During his visit to Tipaza, Minister Djellaoui also oversaw the reconstruction of a bridge on National Route 11 (RN 11). The project aims to improve road safety and infrastructure in the region. The minister's visit included a presentation on the status of public works and basic infrastructure projects in Tipaza.
The presentation provided an overview of ongoing projects, their progress, and future plans for regional road infrastructure development. The minister's visit highlights the government's commitment to upgrading Algeria's road network and promoting regional growth. The projects are expected to have a positive impact on the local economy and improve the quality of life for residents.
