Al Ahly TV announced on October 28, 2026, that the club's football department will be organizing the second edition of the Al Ahly International Youth Tournament for players under 16 years old. The event is scheduled to take place from November 13 to 15, 2026, at the club's facilities in New Cairo. This move comes after the success of the first edition, which was held last year and aimed to provide Al Ahly's youth teams with competitive experience against top international schools of football.
The tournament will feature several prominent international clubs, with Al Ahly aiming to build on the success of the previous edition. The club's strategy is focused on providing its youth teams with high-level competition to enhance their skills and development. By partnering with specialized event organizers, "Turnackick," Al Ahly is seeking to establish itself as a leading destination for major international football tournaments.
The decision to host the tournament is part of Al Ahly's broader strategy to expand its presence on the global football scene. By hosting international events, the club aims to promote its reputation as a premier sports institution and create new opportunities for its youth teams. The under-16 tournament is seen as a key component of this strategy, providing young players with a platform to showcase their talents against top international competition.
Al Ahly's youth teams have been active in recent weeks, with several teams competing in domestic tournaments. The club's 2007 team recently secured a 4-0 victory over the Egyptian bank's youth team in the Republican Youth League. Meanwhile, the club's women's teams have also been in action, with the 2008 team defeating Ismaily in the Republican League.
The upcoming tournament is expected to attract significant attention from football fans and scouts, providing Al Ahly's young players with a valuable opportunity to demonstrate their skills. The event will also offer a platform for international clubs to assess Egypt's emerging talent and potentially identify future stars.
Preparations for the tournament are underway, with Al Ahly working closely with event organizers to ensure a successful event. The club has a reputation for hosting high-profile tournaments and is confident that this year's event will be a major success. With several top international clubs set to participate, the tournament promises to be an exciting and competitive event.
The second edition of the Al Ahly International Youth Tournament under-16 is set to be a major highlight of the Egyptian football calendar.
