Youths in Akoko North West Local Council Area of Ondo State have called for cohesion within political ranks, youth development, and active involvement in Nigeria's political and socio-economic development. This call was made during a Youth Summit organised by the All Progressives Congress (APC) Youth Leader in Akoko North West, Mustapha Busari. The summit brought together party leaders, youths, students, educators, and stakeholders to discuss entrepreneurship, party unity, and constructive engagement.
The summit featured discussions on essential elements for development within the council, Ondo State, and Nigeria. Mustapha Busari expressed appreciation to party leaders, members, and residents for their continued support for President Bola Tinubu's administration. He stressed the importance of unity within the party to sustain APC's programmes, strengthen its grassroots structure, and foster effective engagement among members.
Mustapha Busari urged young people to shun drug abuse, pursue education, acquire relevant skills, and embrace entrepreneurship as pathways to personal development, self-reliance, and economic independence. He commended the Minister of Interior, Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, for his contributions to youth development and empowerment in the state, particularly in Akoko North West, as well as his support for the Tinubu administration.
The APC Chairman of Akoko North West Local Government, Kehinde Obanla, commended Mustapha Busari for organising the initiative. He urged party members and residents to sustain their support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu's administration. The member representing Akoko North West Constituency I in the Ondo State House of Assembly, Fatai Atere, appreciated the people for their support for the APC-led government and called for continued support for the party.
The Director-General of BTO4PBAT, Adesuyi Adojutelegan, stated that the APC remained committed to a development agenda for Nigeria and urged party members to remain united, focused, and committed to the party's objectives. Idowu Aiyegbusi emphasised the importance of party unity, stressing that cohesion among members was essential to strengthening the party and ensuring effective preparations for forthcoming elections.
An inter-school quiz competition was held during the summit, involving students from Constituency 1 and Constituency 2 in the Akoko North West Local Government Area. Students representing Constituency 1 emerged as winners and received a cash prize of N100,000. This initiative aimed to encourage academic excellence and promote unity among students in the area.
