On September 24, 2026, Africa Globals Logistics (AGL) and its subsidiary SITARAIL launched projects to provide a water well and gardening kit to the Bendogo A Primary School in Ouagadougou, Burkina Faso. This initiative is part of their third annual Solidarity Day, which focuses on education and aims to improve conditions for students. The event was attended by officials, including representatives from the Ministry of Basic Education, Literacy, and Promotion of National Languages.
The projects, part of AGL's "Ecole Prospère" initiative, aim to provide more than just a donation. According to AGL's Deputy Managing Director, Touwendé Joachim Ouédraogo, the goal is to create a lasting impact on the community. He stated that AGL believes investing in human capital, particularly in youth, is the most valuable investment a nation can make. The initiative also aligns with the Burkinabè government's program "Zéro école sans eau ni latrine" (Zero school without water or latrine).
The water well and gardening kit will not only provide access to clean water but also promote environmental education and student responsibility. The projects will benefit two schools: Bendogo A in Ouagadougou and Borodougou in Bobo-Dioulasso. Adjarata Sawadogo, Director of Preschool, Primary, and Non-Formal Education in the Kadiogo region, expressed gratitude to AGL and SITARAIL for their support, highlighting the importance of partnerships between public and private sectors in achieving quality education.
The Solidarity Day events took place in 51 countries, with over 23,000 employees from more than 250 subsidiaries participating. In Burkina Faso, AGL and SITARAIL have chosen to focus on education, aligning with the government's priorities. The companies aim to make a positive impact on the population, demonstrating that economic performance and social responsibility go hand-in-hand.
Rasmata Sawadogo, Director of Bendogo A Primary School, welcomed the initiative, stating that it will alleviate water shortages and enable the school to implement a future agricultural project using the gardening kit. The representative of the Naaba of Bendogo also praised AGL and SITARAIL for their generosity and encouraged school staff to take care of the new infrastructure.
