The inaugural Africa Climate Implementation Summit (ACIS) is set to take place in Antalya on November 13, 2026. The summit aims to connect African climate priorities with investment, partnerships, and practical implementation. Convened by Vantage Climate, the summit will bring together African governments, investors, and businesses to accelerate climate investment and implementation. The event will spotlight corporate renewable energy opportunities and feature Lagos State's estimated $25-50 billion climate investment opportunity.
The summit seeks to advance Africa's climate agenda beyond representation in global negotiations towards investable projects, stronger capital partnerships, and measurable outcomes. It will bring together project developers, investors, financial institutions, and strategic partners to connect African opportunities with the capital, expertise, and partnerships needed to move projects from ambition to implementation. The summit's theme is "From Climate Commitments to Investment – Connecting African Projects, Climate Finance, and Implementation."
David Goldfinger Idagu, Founder of Vantage Climate, emphasized that the Africa climate challenge is also an investment opportunity, but unlocking it requires more than ambition. He stated that the summit aims to build a platform to bridge the gap between credible projects and capital, expertise, and strategic partnerships that can accelerate implementation. The summit will also feature insights from The Climate Group's forthcoming report, Corporate Renewable Energy in Sub-Saharan Africa.
The Climate Group's report, developed in collaboration with the United Nations Office for Project Services (UNOPS) and the Accelerated Partnership for Renewables in Africa (APRA), will bring an important corporate and industrial energy perspective to the summit's investment agenda. The report will highlight the role of renewable energy procurement by businesses in accelerating industrial development, expanding renewable-powered economic activity, and supporting Africa's energy transition.
The summit will also explore the role of carbon markets and high-integrity carbon assets in mobilizing climate finance for African projects. Dr. Adebola Odunsi, Chief Executive Officer of Carbonivity, emphasized that carbon markets and high-integrity carbon assets can play an important role in mobilizing climate finance for Africa. However, realizing this opportunity requires credible project development, transparent market structures, and stronger connections between project developers, investors, and carbon credit buyers.
As part of the program, the Lagos State Government will present an indicative $25-50 billion climate investment opportunity across more than 300 potential projects. The Africa Climate Implementation Summit will be followed by two complementary sessions, creating a progression from high-level dialogue to practical project engagement and investment opportunities. The Africa Climate Deal Room & Project Showcase will provide a platform for project developers and solution providers to present opportunities and engage with investors.
Building For Africa, the summit's official media partner, will launch a 12-month editorial and multimedia series at COP31, "The Africa Climate & Energy Economy: Powering Growth. Financing Innovation. Building Africa." The series will spotlight the investors, businesses, financial institutions, and innovators shaping Africa's climate and energy economy.
