The Delta State Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Chief Solomon Arenyeka, has launched two political support groups in Okpe Local Government Area to galvanize grassroots support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Governor Sheriff Oborevwori in the 2027 elections. The groups, Concern Otirhue Movement for Sheriff and Tinubu and Otirhue Progressive Movement for Sheriff and Tinubu, were founded by the Chairman of the Delta State Local Government Service Commission, Hon. Pastor Joseph Otirhue.

The inauguration ceremony, held at Mereje in Okpe LGA, was attended by several party leaders and stakeholders, including former Minister of Culture and Information, Okakuro Prof. Sam Oyovbaire, and member representing Okpe State Constituency in the Delta State House of Assembly, Okakuro James Augoye. Otirhue stated that the groups were established to strengthen grassroots mobilization and secure victory for Tinubu, Oborevwori, and other APC candidates in the 2027 elections.

The groups aim to mobilize support for APC candidates contesting seats in the State and National Assemblies, with the objective of ensuring victory for the party across all levels. Otirhue urged members to remain committed to the party and intensify their engagement with the people at the grassroots. He also emphasized the importance of the "five-over-five" objective of delivering victory for all APC candidates in the 2027 elections.

In his address, Arenyeka charged members to work assiduously for the success of the party, urging them to take the party's message to the people and ensure that the structures of the two groups remained active across the communities. Other party leaders who spoke at the ceremony stressed the need for sustained engagement with the electorate, saying it would be critical to the party's success in 2027.

The event also featured the empowerment of more than 250 beneficiaries by Otirhue, which is the fifth phase of his empowerment programme. The programme aims to provide support to party members and other beneficiaries, with Otirhue assuring those who were not captured in the latest phase that they would be considered in subsequent phases.

The inauguration further boosted the party's grassroots mobilization efforts in Okpe, with members of the two groups pledging to strengthen their structures and mobilize voters for Tinubu, Oborevwori, and other APC candidates in 2027. Dignitaries at the event included Chairman of Okpe Local Government Council, Okakuro Hon. Isaiah Esiovwa, and former Commissioner for Higher Education, Prof. Hope Eghagha.

The APC's move to strengthen its grassroots mobilization efforts in Okpe LGA is seen as a strategic step towards achieving success in the 2027 elections. With the inauguration of the two support groups, the party is expected to intensify its engagement with the electorate and promote its agenda ahead of the elections.
