In a significant move towards ensuring a peaceful and mature electoral process, twenty political parties in Zamfara State have signed an agreement with the Zamfara State Directorate of Political Matters. According to Hon. Nura Abdullahi Tsafe, the agreement was reached after a meeting with the 20 registered political parties. The meeting was a follow-up to a mobilisation workshop recently organised for 100 screened political groups in the state. The workshop was aimed at sensitising the political groups on the developmental achievements of the present administration of Governor Dauda Lawal in the state.
The mobilisation workshop also focused on promoting peaceful and mature campaigns, free from thuggery in the state. Hon. Tsafe stated that the signing of the agreement by the 20 political parties demonstrates a common mindset among them to conduct peaceful campaigns.
