The 17th edition of the Crédit du Maroc Casablanca Marathon is scheduled for October 25, with approximately 15,000 runners anticipated to participate in different events. The participants will be distributed across three main events: 12,000 runners in the semi-marathon, 2,200 in the marathon, and 800 participants in the relay, divided into 200 teams. This event is taking place under the high patronage of King Mohammed VI.

This year's marathon marks a significant milestone as it has secured a partnership with Crédit du Maroc, making it the "Crédit du Maroc Casablanca Marathon" for the next three editions. The partnership aims to enhance the event's visibility, development, and organizational and sporting levels. Bouchta El Fadel, president of the Association des coureurs du Grand Casablanca (ACGC), emphasized that this edition represents a new step in the event's journey, with ongoing efforts to improve the marathon's sporting and organizational aspects.

The event has obtained the "Elite" label from World Athletics, a prestigious recognition in terms of organization, security, animation, and marathon village. The organizers have attracted nearly 30 elite runners from Morocco and abroad. The program includes three events: the marathon (42.195 km), the semi-marathon (21.097 km), and the relay, where teams of four runners each cover approximately 10.5 km.

One of the notable improvements in this edition is the increased overall prize value, which has risen to 2.2 million dirhams (MDH), a 41% increase from the previous edition. The reward scale is equal for both women and men. Additionally, the course has been redesigned, allowing participants to traverse several axes and neighborhoods, showcasing the main sites of Casablanca.

To enhance the participant experience, an application has been developed, providing various information before, during, and after the race. The app offers live tracking functionality, enabling friends and the public to view each participant's position on a map and follow their progress in real-time.

The event also includes the "Challenge 421," designed for people with disabilities. This initiative allows participants to walk the last 421 meters of the marathon course and cross the same finish line as the runners. A comprehensive organizational setup will be deployed along the course, including security, medical assistance, volunteers, and water and food supply points.

The Crédit du Maroc Casablanca Marathon aims to establish itself as one of the premier marathons in Africa and strengthen its presence among major international events, particularly in the Mediterranean region. The event seeks to bring together elite and amateur runners, families, volunteers, and various components of the city, making it a significant sporting gathering.
