The Egyptian Chamber of Information Technology and Communications Industry (CIT) has announced its participation in the fifth edition of the Iraq International Communications and Technology Expo (ITEX IRAQ 2026). The expo will take place from September 30 to October 3, 2026, at the Baghdad International Expo. A delegation of 12 Egyptian companies specializing in digital transformation, institutional mechanization, artificial intelligence, financial technology, and communications will represent Egypt at the event.
The Egyptian delegation is a collaborative effort between CIT, ExportLink, and the Information Technology Industry Development Agency (ITIDA). According to CIT's Chairman, Khalid Ibrahim, the participation reflects the depth of historical relations between Egypt and Iraq and the growing momentum to build a shared digital economy. The companies participating in the expo have a proven track record of implementing large-scale projects and leading digital transformation.
The Iraq International Communications and Technology Expo 2026 will feature various Iraqi government entities, providing opportunities for direct interaction with 33 participating government agencies, including 16 ministries such as Planning, Education, Health, Trade, Transport, Agriculture, Oil, Defense, and the Central Bank. This platform will enable Egyptian companies to explore potential partnerships and collaborations with Iraqi government agencies and private sector entities.
The expo's theme, "Time to Digital," aligns with CIT's vision of opening new avenues in areas such as cloud computing, ERP and CRM solutions, artificial intelligence, information security, data centers, financial technology, smart cities, and healthcare and education services. The Egyptian companies will showcase their expertise in these areas, aiming to export their digital solutions to the Iraqi market.
Mohamed Said, Head of International Business Development at CIT, emphasized that the participation embodies the Egyptian state's vision of supporting digital exports. The Egyptian pavilion at the expo will serve as a platform for bilateral meetings between Egyptian companies and Iraqi technology leaders, investors, and decision-makers to explore potential collaborations in digital transformation projects.
