Governor Babagana Umara Zulum of Borno State recently visited Gombe State to commission four grassroots projects in Kwami Local Government Area. The projects, which were undertaken by Governor Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya, aim to improve the livelihoods of residents in the area. During the commissioning ceremony, Governor Zulum commended Governor Inuwa Yahaya for his efforts in bringing development to the people.

The projects commissioned include roads and a bridge, Bojude Local Council Development Area (LCDA) Secretariat, Bojude District Head Palace, and Daban Fulani District Head Palace. These projects, according to Governor Zulum, address three important foundations of community progress: infrastructure, effective administration, and traditional leadership. He noted that each project has a distinct purpose and can improve livelihoods, strengthen institutions, and bring government closer to the people.

Governor Zulum emphasized the significance of the roads and bridge projects, stating that they can make a difference in the lives of rural communities. He said a reliable road can enable produce to reach the market, children to attend school regularly, and patients to receive timely care. The Governor also commended the attention given to infrastructure in Kwami Local Government Area, noting that better access supports trade, agricultural production, and the movement of people and services.

The visit by Governor Zulum to Gombe State was a demonstration of the shared vision of North-East leaders to expand opportunities and strengthen public institutions in the region. The Governors of the region had concluded their quarterly meeting in Maiduguri on Saturday, where they discussed ways to build communities where people can live and work with dignity. Governor Zulum commended Governor Inuwa Yahaya for undertaking the projects commissioned and encouraged him to sustain cooperation in pursuit of these goals.

Governor Zulum congratulated the people of Kwami, particularly the communities of Bojude and Daban Fulani, over the projects. He advised that the facilities are public assets entrusted to their care and encouraged them to protect, use, and maintain them responsibly. The Governor also cautioned that commissioning marks the beginning of a facility's service to the public and enjoined the people to continue to work towards proper maintenance and effective administration.

Governor Inuwa Yahaya had earlier thanked Governor Zulum for coming to commission the projects in Gombe State. The Governors had arrived in Gombe from Maiduguri on Sunday afternoon, and Governor Zulum left Gombe in the evening after the day's engagements. The commissioning of the projects is a testament to the commitment of the leaders to bring development to their people.

The rural development projects in Kwami Local Government Area are a significant step towards improving the lives of residents in the area. With the commissioning of these projects, the people of Kwami can look forward to better infrastructure, effective administration, and traditional leadership. The visit by Governor Zulum and the commissioning of the projects demonstrate the commitment of the leaders to work together to bring development to their people.
