The Zamfara State Governor, Dauda Lawal, has initiated a significant infrastructure project in the state. The 95-kilometre Yandoton Daji–Cediya–Doka–Yan Waren Daji–Hayin Alhaji Bedi–Unguwar Joji–Yan Kuzo–Tsafe Road in Tsafe Local Government Area was flagged off in Tsafe town on October 4, 2026. This project aims to enhance connectivity and stimulate economic growth in the region.

The road project, undertaken by Sky Construction Company and Setraco Construction Company Limited, is expected to have a substantial impact on the local economy. According to the Commissioner for Works, Lawal Bungundu, the construction of this road will facilitate the transportation of farm produce, connecting many farmlands and influencing the state's economic activities. The project aligns with the administration's mission to rebuild the state and improve road connectivity for its residents.

Governor Lawal emphasized his administration's commitment to infrastructural renewal and its focus on connecting farmlands to major roads. This, he believes, will enable farmers to transport their produce from farms to markets more efficiently. The project is part of a broader infrastructure renewal programme across Zamfara State, which includes the construction of other strategic corridors such as the Gusau–Magami–Dansadau Road and the Zurmi–Rukudawa Road.

The road project is also expected to enhance security in the region. Governor Lawal noted that the reconstruction of the road would facilitate the movement of goods and services, improve surveillance and intelligence gathering, and enable security agencies to respond more effectively to threats or attacks. The project is seen as a crucial step towards addressing the pressing security challenges in the communities connected by these roads.

The 95-kilometre road project, which includes five bridges, is expected to be completed within 12 months. Upon completion, it is anticipated to have a positive impact on the state's economy, which is largely driven by agriculture. The project will also improve the overall well-being of residents by enhancing access to markets and other essential services.

In addition to the road project, Governor Lawal disclosed plans to construct more inner roads in other Local Government Areas. His administration is committed to delivering the dividends of democracy to residents and ensuring that farmers can easily transport their produce to markets. The project is a significant step towards achieving these goals and improving the lives of the predominantly farming communities in the state.
