Emmanuel Charles, Chairperson of the Khorwilliang Area Youth Leadership, highlighted these challenges during a consultative meeting with the SPLM National Political Club acting director, Diing Lual Kuol. The meeting aimed to discuss the concerns of young people and identify areas where they require support.
Insecurity remains a significant concern in Khorwilliang, with Charles calling for stronger security measures to create an environment conducive to economic and community activities. He emphasized that improved security is crucial for young people to participate in community development and earn a livelihood. The delay in a community policing initiative, promised the previous year, was another concern raised during the meeting.
The community policing initiative is viewed by the youth leaders as a possible means of addressing both unemployment and insecurity-related risks among young people.
