A group of women, known as Women of Influence for Tinubu 2027, has initiated a nationwide mobilisation effort to garner support for President Bola Tinubu's re-election in 2027. The group aims to deploy its networks, platforms, and influence across Nigeria's 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory to promote the achievements of the Tinubu administration and canvass support for the continuation of the Renewed Hope Agenda.
The National Convener of the organisation, Hauwa Farouk Ibrahim, announced this at a press conference in Kano State on Saturday. According to Ibrahim, the group is uniting women from diverse professions, communities, and backgrounds to play a more active role in the political process. The group proudly supports President Tinubu, citing their belief in his vision for a stronger, more prosperous, and more united Nigeria under the Renewed Hope Agenda.
The mobilisation drive will focus on communicating the administration's achievements in various sectors, including infrastructure, education, healthcare, agriculture, youth development, housing, and economic reforms. Ibrahim specifically highlighted road and rail projects, which aim to improve transportation, strengthen connectivity between communities, and support economic activities. The group also cited the Nigerian Education Loan Fund as part of the administration's human capital development initiatives, expanding opportunities for Nigerian students to access higher education.
The group also expressed support for the administration's energy and petroleum sector reforms. Ibrahim noted that the development of domestic refining capacity and initiatives such as Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) provide alternative energy and transportation opportunities for Nigerians. Additionally, the group will highlight the government's economic reforms, agricultural initiatives, and programmes targeting young Nigerians through skills development, entrepreneurship, digital innovation, and employment.
Beyond promoting government programmes, the organisation seeks to translate women's social and community influence into greater participation in politics and public affairs. Ibrahim emphasised that women are committed to ensuring their active participation in Nigeria's political and national development. The group believes that Nigerian women possess enormous influence through their families, professions, businesses, communities, media platforms, and social networks, which can make a significant contribution to national development.
The group plans to establish a structure that extends beyond Kano, with representation across the states and the Federal Capital Territory. Through its platforms, the group will promote constructive engagement, responsible political communication, and awareness of government programmes. It also pledges to encourage more women to participate in politics, leadership, and public affairs. Ibrahim stated that the group's decision to mobilise for Tinubu is rooted in its belief in his leadership and the policies of the Renewed Hope Agenda.
As political activities gather momentum ahead of 2027, the convener said the women's group is prepared to take its campaign to communities across the country. The group stands together as women who believe in Nigeria's progress and are committed to contributing their voices, energy, skills, and influence towards the continuation of the Renewed Hope Agenda.
