Zimbabwean businessman Wicknell Chivayo has publicly declared that he has forgiven his ex-wife Sonja, citing the welfare of their two children as the driving force behind his decision. In a candid street interview that has since circulated widely online, Chivayo explained that the moment his children began asking after their mother, he knew he could not sustain any bitterness. Chivayo's decision to forgive his ex-wife comes after a bitter legal dispute involving their children's finances.

Chivayo alleged that his ex-wife and her mother attempted to remove him as a signatory on a children's investment account holding KSh 650 million. He also claimed that Sonja's mother had circulated fake photos of him with South African President Cyril Ramaphosa to discredit him. Chivayo described the actions as an attempt to contradict a statement made by Ramaphosa's spokesperson regarding when the two men had first met.

Despite extending forgiveness, Chivayo did not hold back when addressing the conduct of Sonja's mother during the dispute. He alleged that the older woman's behavior warranted the legal consequences she faced, but confirmed that the family had since dropped the charges. Chivayo remarked that his mother-in-law "deserves to have slept inside for a few days," though he made clear the matter was now closed.

Chivayo addressed the financial dimension of the fallout, explaining that a High Court order had established that five million dollars belonged to his children as their investment. He alleged that Sonja's mother had attempted to purchase a piece of land using KSh 181 million from that fund without his knowledge, reportedly intending to build cluster housing.

Beyond the land purchase, Chivayo alleged that Sonja had approached banking officials in an effort to have him removed as a signatory on the children's account, in contravention of a court order that granted him an oversight role over the funds. Chivayo described the actions as "unacceptable" and stated that he would not call it attempted fraud.

Despite the gravity of the allegations, Chivayo insisted that the relationship with the Magikanda family was not over. He stated that "our relationship can never end" because they have two children together, and he will still be there for them. Chivayo emphasized that he has forgiven them and will prioritize their children's welfare.

The family feud highlights the complexities of relationships and financial disputes. Chivayo's decision to forgive his ex-wife and her family has brought an end to the publicized dispute. The businessman has two children with Sonja, and their welfare remains a priority.
