Imo State Governor, Hope Uzodimma, has launched a fresh media push to promote President Bola Tinubu's re-election bid. As Chairman of the Progressives Governors' Forum (PGF) and Director-General of the Renewed Hope Ambassadors (RHA), Uzodimma aims to deepen his campaign through an expanded media grassroots engagement and mobilisation strategy. This move focuses on taking Tinubu's Renewed Hope Agenda to local communities nationwide.
The RHA has introduced a wider media and public enlightenment campaign, featuring a weekly media outreach on television channels. According to RHA Director of Logistics, Shehu Bala Usman, this strategy effectively utilises digital and new media platforms to inform the public about Federal Government policies, counter misinformation, and connect with voters at the grassroots. This approach aims to promote the administration's reforms narrative.
Recently, a group of lawyers urged FCT Minister, Nyesom Wike, to refrain from personal attacks on Uzodimma, citing potential conflict of interest and the need for proper coordination of Tinubu's re-election campaign. However, Uzodimma has continued to build a nationwide communication and mobilisation machinery for the Tinubu administration. The RHA had previously unveiled a digital platform to aggregate policy experts and provide updates on government information.
The RHA's initiative integrates social media channels to widen its reach and provides for citizen engagements and feedback. The organisation's structures have been extended from the national level to states, local governments, wards, and polling units. This expansion represents a broader strategy to use media communication as a mobilisation tool ahead of the 2027 elections.
At a national mobilisation retreat in Abuja in June 2026, Uzodimma emphasised the importance of adequate communication in preventing distorted public perception of government policies and achievements. He urged supporters to take the administration's message directly to the grassroots and disclosed a mobilisation architecture covering the country's 176,846 polling units.
Uzodimma has appointed 25 canvassers at each polling unit, resulting in 4,421,150 grassroots mobilisers. Through the RHA platform, he has rallied support for Tinubu's second-term bid, instructing National Directors and Coordinators in the 36 states, including the FCT, to intensify grassroots mobilisation and public awareness of the administration's programmes.
The RHA's media strategy is being positioned as a grassroots communication network capable of taking the Renewed Hope message into communities, markets, campuses, wards, and polling units ahead of the 2027 presidential election. Uzodimma previously stated that the 2027 election would test public acceptance of Tinubu's reform agenda, stressing that supporters must communicate its policies and achievements to Nigerians.
