Libya's National Center of Meteorology has reported that unstable weather conditions and thunderstorms will continue to affect most western regions of the country. The center forecasts scattered rainfall, accompanied by thunderstorm cells, in various areas, with the possibility of extending to some northeastern regions. The regions of Ras Ajdir to Sirte, the Sahl Al-Jafara, and Jebel Nefusa will experience an increase in cloud cover, with scattered rainfall expected in coastal areas, parts of the mountain, and southern regions, as well as border areas. The rainfall may be accompanied by thunderstorm cells and can be heavy at times, particularly in the Jafara areas and parts of the mountain. This could lead to water accumulation in low-lying areas and the flow of local watercourses.
On the following day, some northeastern regions are expected to be affected by thunderstorms, with variable winds blowing in these areas, tending to be northeasterly and light to moderate in speed. Daytime temperatures will range between 26 and 31 degrees Celsius. Meanwhile, in the Gulf region and the plain of Benghazi up to Al-Misqad, cloud cover will increase from time to time, with a chance of light rainfall, particularly in mountainous areas.
The regions of Al-Jafra, Sebha, Ghat, Ghadames, and Al-Hamada will experience an increase in cloud cover, with scattered rainfall and thunderstorm cells expected in Ghat and surrounding areas, as well as Obari, Marzuk, Sebha, Al-Faqa, Al-Horog, and Derj. The rainfall may be significant in some areas, increasing the likelihood of water accumulation and flash flooding in some local watercourses.
In the regions of Al-Wahat, Al-Serir, Tazirbu, and Al-Kufra, cloud cover will be minimal and will increase only occasionally, with northerly to northeasterly winds blowing at a moderate speed and daytime temperatures ranging between 34 and 36 degrees Celsius. The weather is expected to remain relatively stable in these areas.
The National Center of Meteorology has indicated that the weather will remain largely unchanged until the end of the week, urging residents to exercise caution in areas affected by thunderstorms and to follow weather updates, particularly when driving or approaching watercourses and low-lying areas.
