The University of Khenchela, located in the province of Khenchela, Algeria, has announced the opening of recruitment for assistant professors in 12 fields. This move aims to strengthen the pedagogical staffing at the university. The recruitment is open to individuals holding a Doctorate of State or a Ph.D. in Sciences, or a certificate recognized as equivalent.
According to the university's administration, the recruitment competition is based on certificates and is open to candidates who wish to join the ranks of assistant professors at six faculties. These faculties include 12 fields distributed across various specialties, with 21 positions available for assistant professors. Specifically, there are five positions available at the Faculty of Arts and Languages, distributed across four positions in the English Language department and one position in Linguistic Studies.
Additionally, there are two positions available at the Faculty of Economic Sciences, Commercial Sciences, and Management Sciences, with one position in the Management and Administration of Institutions and one position in the Economics of Money and Banking. The Faculty of Sciences and Technology has six positions available, including two positions in Mathematics and Computer Science in Artificial Intelligence and Cybersecurity.
The Faculty of Natural and Life Sciences has two positions available, distributed across Nutrition and Biological Sciences. The Faculty of Human and Social Sciences has three positions available in Psychology, Media and Communication, and History. Furthermore, the Faculty of Law and Political Sciences has three positions available. The registration period for the recruitment competition is set at 15 days, starting from the announcement date.
Candidates who are successful in the competition will be required to provide documents that prove their scientific work in their field of specialization before or after obtaining the required certificate. They must also provide work certificates that demonstrate their professional experience in teaching at higher education institutions.
Recently, a delegation of academics from Jakarta University in Indonesia visited the University of Khenchela as part of efforts to strengthen cooperation and scientific exchange between the two institutions. The visit included a series of lectures and workshops on topics such as tourism and teaching Arabic to non-native speakers.
The University of Khenchela has also been represented in an international competition, with a student from the university, Somia Salhi, participating in the International Olympiad on Financial Security 2026 in Russia. The Algerian team, consisting of six students, reached the semi-final stage of the competition, which will take place from September 27 to October 2.
