This is according to the 17th edition of the "Global Wealth Report 2026" published by the Allianz Group. The report tracks the development of assets and debts for households in around 60 countries worldwide. This indicator reflects the financial assets owned by individuals after deducting liabilities and debts.
Switzerland secured the second position globally with a net financial asset value of 275.98 thousand euros per person. Denmark ranked third with approximately 197.51 thousand euros. Singapore took the fourth spot with a value of 192.84 thousand euros per person, followed by Taiwan in fifth place with 164.47 thousand euros. The top ten list also includes Sweden, which ranked sixth with a net financial asset value of 155.98 thousand euros per person.
Canada ranked seventh with 135.35 thousand euros, while New Zealand secured the eighth position with 127.55 thousand euros. The Netherlands took the ninth spot with a value of 116.60 thousand euros per person. Belgium rounded out the top ten with approximately 114.59 thousand euros. These rankings provide insight into the financial wealth of households across different countries.
Australia ranked eleventh with a net financial asset value of 113.19 thousand euros per person, recording an annual growth rate of 11% in 2025. Germany secured the twelfth position with 91.78 thousand euros per person, experiencing an annual increase of 6.4%. Italy ranked thirteenth with 91.73 thousand euros, achieving growth of 8.8%. Japan took the fourteenth spot with a value of 89.42 thousand euros per person.
Ireland ranked fifteenth with approximately 83.59 thousand euros. According to Allianz, Germany's ranking reflects the impact of statistical revisions made by German authorities to historical data, particularly regarding the valuation of unlisted equity holdings. These revisions have influenced the country's position in the global ranking.
