The senior special assistant to Kaduna State Governor on Public Affairs, Victor Mathew Bobai, has commended Governor Uba Sani for his unwavering commitment to President Bola Tinubu's re-election bid. According to Bobai, Sani is the most dedicated governor in Northern Nigeria to Tinubu's 2027 campaign. This assertion was made in response to Sani's recent remarks at the All Progressives Congress (APC) presidential campaign flag-off in Kaduna and a subsequent television interview.

During the campaign event and interview, Governor Sani defended Tinubu's administration and urged Nigerians to re-elect him in 2027. Bobai attributed Sani's support for Tinubu to the tangible federal interventions in Kaduna, emphasizing that voters should evaluate the President's performance based on projects and policies rather than regional sentiments. This approach, according to Bobai, is essential in assessing the impact of Tinubu's administration.

One of the notable projects cited by Bobai is the Abuja-Kaduna-Kano Expressway, which has reportedly attracted N740 billion in funding. According to the governor's aide, the project is approximately 95 per cent complete. Additionally, Bobai mentioned the Zaria-Soba-Kambuwa and Zaria-Funtua-Gusau-Birnin Gwari road corridors as significant infrastructure developments in the state. These projects are expected to enhance connectivity and economic growth in Kaduna.

The proposed Kaduna Metropolitan Light Rail project is another initiative highlighted by Bobai. He disclosed that $865 million was approved for the scheme, with $300 million already paid to the contractor as mobilisation. This project aims to improve public transportation in Kaduna, reducing congestion and enhancing the quality of life for residents. Furthermore, Bobai mentioned the handover of Ahmadu Bello Stadium to the Kaduna State Government.

The Kaduna State Government plans to rebuild Ahmadu Bello Stadium into a 33,000-seat stadium that meets international football standards. This renovation is part of the government's efforts to upgrade sports infrastructure in the state. In the education sector, Bobai cited the establishment of the Federal University of Applied Sciences in Kachia and the Federal University of Education in Zaria as notable achievements.

Additionally, Bobai mentioned proposals for the Shehu Musa Yar’Adua University of Petroleum Studies and the conversion of Kaduna Polytechnic into a federal university of technology. These initiatives aim to expand access to quality education in Kaduna, aligning with the state's development goals. Bobai also challenged opposition parties to present their records and explain how their policies would address Nigerians' needs.

According to Bobai, Governor Sani is determined to secure a decisive victory for Tinubu in Kaduna, with the governor describing an opposition candidate winning even 25 per cent of the votes in the state as a failure for the APC. The 2027 election is expected to be a critical moment for Nigerian politics, with various stakeholders vying for power.
