United Bank for Africa (UBA) has introduced a personal loan facility of up to N30 million, enabling its customers to invest in the ongoing Dangote Petroleum Refinery initial public offering (IPO). The bank disclosed this in an email to its customers, highlighting the loan as a means for investors to access additional funds for the IPO. This move aims to provide customers with an opportunity to invest in one of Africa's largest industrial projects.

The Dangote Refinery IPO, priced at N525 per share, requires a minimum subscription of 10 shares and a maximum of 500 shares per transaction, starting at N5,250. This offer allows everyday Nigerians to own a stake in the 650,000-barrel-per-day Dangote refinery, a major component of Nigeria's energy sector. UBA is among the approved bank subscription channels for the offer, alongside other banks and financial institutions.

Several banks, including Access Bank, Ecobank, and Zenith Bank, have been approved as subscription channels for the Dangote Refinery IPO. Additionally, fintech platforms like Moniepoint, Flutterwave, and PiggyVest, as well as mobile money operators MTN MoMo and Airtel SmartCash, have also been approved. These channels aim to increase accessibility to the IPO for retail investors.

Moniepoint Microfinance Bank and TeamApt Ltd. have collaborated to expand retail access to the IPO through Moniepoint's digital banking platforms and nationwide POS network. Customers can subscribe through Moniepoint agent locations using POS terminals or via the Moniepoint Personal and Business Banking apps.

The expansion of subscription channels through banks, fintech platforms, and POS networks is increasing the number of avenues for retail investors to access the Dangote Refinery IPO. This development is expected to boost participation in the offer and provide more Nigerians with an opportunity to invest in the refinery.

The Dangote Petroleum Refinery IPO is a significant investment opportunity, allowing investors to participate in Nigeria's energy sector. The refinery, with a capacity of 650,000 barrels per day, is expected to play a major role in the country's economic growth.

UBA's personal loan facility for the Dangote Refinery IPO is part of its efforts to provide customers with innovative financial solutions. The bank's move is expected to enhance accessibility to the IPO and provide customers with an opportunity to invest in a major industrial project.
