Two prominent members of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) in Sokoto State have defected to the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC). Alhaji Sanusi Mai Kyame, a former chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Sokoto North Local Government Area and an ADC chieftain, was received into the APC by the state chairman of the party, Alhaji Haruna Adiya. The two new APC members were received by various party officials, including the Chairman of the Sokoto State Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB), Alhaji Umaru Nagwari Tambuwal.
The APC state chairman, Adiya, commended Mai Kyame for joining the party, describing the decision as wise and a demonstration of his commitment to the development of Sokoto State. Adiya assured the new entrant that he would be carried along in the affairs of the party, saying the APC in the state was committed to putting the interests of the people first.
Similarly, Tambuwal welcomed Salah into the APC, assuring him of equal treatment, stressing that there was no discrimination among members of the party.
