Tunisia's Minister of Education, Noureddine Nouri, announced on September 26, 2026, that a remote listening platform will be launched as part of the country's executive program to combat emerging phenomena and risky behaviors. The executive program, which will commence in October, is the result of a collaborative effort between over a dozen ministries. The program includes interventions from youth center animators, Ministry of Family, Women, Childhood, and Seniors officials, and healthcare professionals in schools. These interventions will focus on providing information and awareness sessions to students on various risks they may face, particularly those related to cyberspace.
As part of the program, ten minutes of social education sessions will be dedicated to raising awareness among students about different risks and informing them about prevention methods. This initiative seeks to empower students with the knowledge and skills necessary to navigate potential challenges. The program's implementation will be monitored and evaluated to assess its effectiveness.
During his visit to Mahdia, Minister Nouri inaugurated several newly constructed schools, including the Erriadh college in Boumerdès, which was built at a cost of 7.323 million dinars, and the Boumerdès primary school, which cost 1.120 million dinars. He also inspected several construction sites, emphasizing the need to complete projects within the allotted timeframe.
The Minister visited several schools under the delegations of Souassi, El Jem, Sidi Alouane, Chebba, Ksour Essef, and Mahdia. He reviewed the progress of various projects, highlighting the Ministry's commitment to allocating new projects based on the region's needs. A total of 433 school projects have been programmed in the Mahdia region, with 201 completed, 9 under evaluation, and 40 underway.
The Mahdia region has a total budget of approximately 25 million dinars allocated for school projects, in addition to 183 projects currently in the study phase. Minister Nouri emphasized the importance of addressing the needs of the region's educational infrastructure. The Ministry's efforts aim to improve the quality of education and provide students with a safe and supportive learning environment.
