Tunisia's Minister of Education, Noureddine Nouri, announced on Saturday in Mahdia that a remote listening platform will be launched soon to address emerging phenomena and risky behaviors in schools. The platform is part of the executive program to combat risky behaviors and will be implemented in collaboration with the Ministries of Education, Health, and Social Affairs. The minister made the announcement during a visit to several educational institutions in Mahdia.
The remote listening platform aims to provide a safe and confidential space for students to report incidents or concerns. The minister explained that the platform will be operated in partnership with various stakeholders, including youth centers, women's and children's organizations, and healthcare professionals. The goal is to provide educational and awareness-raising programs to prevent risky behaviors, including cyberbullying and online harassment.
As part of the executive program, educational institutions will allocate 10 minutes within their social education and humanities classes to raise awareness about potential risks and prevention methods. The program will also involve animators from youth centers and healthcare professionals providing educational and awareness-raising sessions in schools. The minister emphasized that the program is a collaborative effort between nearly 10 ministries.
During his visit, Minister Nouri inaugurated several newly built educational institutions, including the Boudinaras Preparatory School, which cost 7.323 million dinars to build, and the Boudinaras Primary School, which cost 1.120 million dinars. He also inspected several construction sites, urging contractors to complete the work within the specified deadlines.
The minister's visit included stops at educational institutions in various delegations, including Sidi Ali Ben Aoun, Jammal, Sidi Alwan, Chebba, and Mahdia. The Mahdia Regional Education Delegation has a portfolio of 433 projects, including 201 completed projects, 9 projects under evaluation, and 40 projects under construction, with a total cost of approximately 25 million dinars.
In addition to the remote listening platform, the Ministry of Education is working to strengthen its efforts to protect childhood and promote healthy behaviors. The minister emphasized that the ministry is committed to working with various stakeholders to ensure a safe and supportive learning environment for all students.
The launch of the remote listening platform is expected to take place in early October, marking the beginning of the implementation of the executive program to combat risky behaviors. The program aims to promote healthy behaviors, prevent risky behaviors, and provide support to students who may be struggling with various challenges.
