Tunisian Education Minister, Noureddine Nouri, announced on Saturday in Mahdia that a remote listening platform will be launched soon to address emerging phenomena and risky behaviors in schools. The platform is part of the executive program to combat risky behaviors and will be implemented in collaboration with the Ministries of Education, Health, and Social Affairs. The minister made the announcement during a visit to several educational institutions in Mahdia.
The remote listening platform aims to provide a safe and confidential space for students to report incidents and seek help. The minister explained that the platform will be launched in October, as part of a comprehensive plan to tackle risky behaviors in schools. The plan involves around ten ministries and will include educational and awareness-raising activities for students, teachers, and parents. The goal is to prevent and address issues such as cyberbullying, violence, and substance abuse.
As part of the plan, the Ministry of Education will allocate ten minutes within social education and humanities classes to raise awareness about the risks students may face, including cyber risks, and provide information on prevention methods. The minister emphasized that the platform will be a valuable tool for students, teachers, and parents to report incidents and seek help. The platform is expected to improve the overall safety and well-being of students in Tunisian schools.
During his visit, Minister Nouri inaugurated several new educational institutions, including the Riyadh Preparatory School in Bumardas, which cost 7.323 million dinars to build, and the Bumardas Primary School, which cost 1.120 million dinars. He also inspected several construction sites, urging contractors to complete the work within the specified deadlines. The minister assured that his ministry is committed to programming new projects according to the region's needs and requirements.
The minister's visit included stops at educational institutions in several delegations, including Sidi Ali Ben Aoun, Jammal, Sidi Alwan, Chebba, and Mahdia. The regional education delegation in Mahdia has a portfolio of 433 projects, including 201 completed projects, 9 projects under evaluation, and 40 projects under construction, with a total cost of around 25 million dinars. Additionally, 183 projects are in the study phase.
The launch of the remote listening platform is part of a broader effort to improve the quality of education and ensure student safety in Tunisia.
