The Tunisian banking and financial council has announced that the registration platform for the 'Loan of Honor' will be launched on Thursday. This new financing mechanism was established by decree number 148 of 2026, dated July 23, 2026, which aims to reform banking facilities and the check system. The 'Loan of Honor' is designed to provide financial support to a wide range of individuals, small project owners, small and medium-sized enterprises, and civil companies.

The 'Loan of Honor' offers several benefits, including zero interest rates, full exemption from bank interest, and no additional fees or commissions. The loan amounts vary depending on the type of activity and the needs of the beneficiaries. Individuals can receive financing of up to 5,000 dinars to cover personal and consumer expenses. Small project owners can obtain financing of up to 10,000 dinars to support their professional activities.

Small and medium-sized enterprises, as well as civil companies, can receive financing of up to 25,000 dinars to strengthen their financial balances and support their investment programs. The 'Loan of Honor' system is based on a set of direct facilities aimed at facilitating access to financing. These facilities include a zero interest rate, exemption from bank interest, and no additional fees or commissions.

The repayment period for the 'Loan of Honor' is up to two years, with a possible six-month grace period. The banking institutions are committed to responding to loan requests within 10 working days from the date of submission, with a written explanation in case of refusal. The files will be processed based on the principle of "priority according to registration date" through a dedicated electronic platform.

All banks are required to launch and work on this platform starting from October 1, 2026, to ensure transparency and equal opportunities for all applicants. The 'Loan of Honor' is a new financing mechanism that aims to support small and medium-sized enterprises, as well as individuals, by providing them with the necessary liquidity without burdening them with complex guarantees or high interest rates.

The Tunisian banking and financial council has produced a video to highlight the practical procedures for benefiting from the 'Loan of Honor'. The video was published on the council's official Facebook page. The council's goal is to provide clear and concise information to potential beneficiaries and to encourage them to apply for the 'Loan of Honor'.

The launch of the 'Loan of Honor' registration platform is expected to have a positive impact on the Tunisian economy, particularly on small and medium-sized enterprises, which are often struggling to access financing. The 'Loan of Honor' is an innovative financing solution that can help stimulate economic growth and job creation in Tunisia.
