The Tunisian Export Promotion Fund (FOPRODEX) has announced an extension of the deadline for submitting requests for international transport aid. The new deadline is 360 days, calculated from the day after the export date, up from the previous 30 days. This measure aims to support the growth of Tunisian export companies and enhance their competitiveness in international markets. The extension applies to all export operations carried out in 2026.
The FOPRODEX is part of the Tunisian government's efforts to promote exports and support economic growth. The fund provides financial and logistical assistance to exporters, helping them to access new markets and increase their exports. According to Mourad Ben Hussein, CEO of the Export Promotion Center, the fund is being restructured to improve its support mechanisms for exporters. This includes the development of new programs and activities to promote key sectors.
The Export Promotion Center is working with export sector representatives to identify priority markets and programs for 2027. The goal is to develop a promotion program that will help Tunisian companies exploit new export opportunities. In 2025, the FOPRODEX supported 2,223 dossiers with a total value of around 57 million dinars. The fund's support focuses on key sectors such as agri-food, handicrafts, and services.
The FOPRODEX has also implemented a new electronic system, E FORPODEX, to digitize data related to requests for aid for promotional operations. The system, which came into effect in January 2026, allows exporters to submit requests for subsidies online. This replaces the previous DATACAP system and aims to streamline the process of requesting support.
In addition to extending the deadline for transport aid requests, the FOPRODEX has increased its support for olive oil exports. The fund now covers 70% of air transport costs for olive oil exports, up from 50%. Support for multimodal transport has also increased from 33% to 50% under a new agreement with the postal network EASY EXPORT.
The Tunisian Export Promotion Fund was established in 1985 under the Ministry of Trade and Export Development. Its mission is to support Tunisian exporters financially and logistically, encouraging companies to orient their products and services towards international markets. The fund plays a crucial role in helping Tunisian companies compete in the global market.
The extension of the deadline for transport aid requests and the increase in support for olive oil exports are part of the Tunisian government's efforts to boost economic growth and promote exports. The FOPRODEX's new measures aim to provide more flexibility and support to exporters, helping them to overcome challenges and capitalize on new opportunities in international markets.
