The Agence de promotion de l'industrie et de l'innovation (APII) has adopted its first three recommendations for the electronics industry in Tunisia. The recommendations come from a study aimed at modernizing the country's industrial fabric and attracting investment in high-value-added activities. The study is part of the government's strategy to position Tunisia as a competitive hub for designing, manufacturing, and integrating electronic systems for European and African markets.

The APII steering committee met at its headquarters to discuss the recommendations and outline plans for five preparatory sector profiles. The meeting brought together public and private sector stakeholders, including the Directorate General of Manufacturing Industries, the Center for Telecommunications Studies and Research, and the Tunisian Automotive Association. The study is part of a broader initiative to promote employment and support small and medium-sized enterprises.

The project is implemented by the German Development Cooperation (GIZ) in collaboration with the Ministry of Industry, Mines, and Energy. It is funded by the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ) through the Special Initiative "Training and Employment". The goal is to create jobs and enhance Tunisia's competitiveness in the electronics sector.

The study focuses on identifying promising specialties in the electronics industry. It builds on previous work by the APII and GIZ between 2023 and 2025. The recommendations aim to support the development of a competitive electronics industry in Tunisia, with a focus on high-value-added activities.
