The second edition of the E-FEST CAMP festival kicked off on Thursday, October 29, 2026, at Qsar El Ferch in the delegation of Ghmarasen, Tataouine Governorate. The festival will run until Sunday, November 1, 2026, and features a diverse program of 21 musical performances from several countries, including Algeria, Morocco, Egypt, Iraq, France, Switzerland, Belgium, and Tunisia.
The festival program includes 10 activities, such as performances, training workshops, intellectual meetings, and masterclasses, including "Immersion in Live Arts" and group activities, as well as cinematic performances. According to Afif Riahi, director of the festival and president of the "Electronic Echo" association, the event aims to harness artistic creativity to serve residents, heritage, and collective imagination, while presenting different dimensions of digital innovation and expression.
Riahi stated that the festival is based on three main axes: an artistic axis that enhances digital creativity, a socio-economic axis that supports local development, and an intellectual interactive axis. He added that the festival's objectives go beyond the artistic and entertainment aspects, extending to the developmental and intellectual dimensions, with a program that includes discussion sessions and round tables addressing key issues affecting the region.
One of the main issues to be discussed during the festival is "alternative tourism" and ways to invest in local culture and heritage to stimulate the economic cycle. The festival also aims to promote cultural decentralization and make Qsar El Ferch in Tataouine a living platform that combines contemporary art, heritage, and local skills.
Since the festival's inception in its first edition in 2025, the revenue from ticket sales has been allocated to contribute to the restoration works of Qsar El Ferch. In the previous edition, the revenue reached approximately 27,000 dinars, providing funding for the maintenance of this historic landmark and ensuring sustainable financing to support local efforts.
The E-FEST CAMP festival has undergone a strategic transformation since its creation in 2007, initially taking place between the Carthage Cathedral and the Palace of Abdallah in Marsa before permanently moving to southern Tunisia. This move aims to promote cultural decentralization and make Qsar El Ferch a hub for artistic innovation and community experimentation.
The festival's second edition has attracted a notable crowd, with various activities and performances that showcase the region's cultural and artistic diversity. The event is expected to contribute to the local economy and promote cultural exchange between Tunisian and international artists.
