The Caisse des Dépôts et des Consignations (CDC) in Tunisia is set to launch the second edition of its regional tour in 2026, focusing on innovative startups and small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs). The tour, which begins on September 28, 2026, in the Kef governorate, aims to support and finance these businesses. According to Nejia Gharbi, the CDC's director-general, the tour will continue on October 6, 22, and 23 in Monastir, Gafsa, and Zarzis, respectively.

The regional tour is part of the CDC's ongoing efforts to promote entrepreneurship and innovation in Tunisia. In 2025, the CDC initiated a similar program, which has already led to the financing of over 75 startups. The current tour seeks to build on this success by engaging with regional ecosystems, understanding their specific needs and potential, and addressing the challenges faced by project leaders in terms of development and growth.

The CDC's program aims to finance 230 startups and SMEs by the end of 2028. To achieve this goal, the CDC offers financing options, including equity participation and support funding, through its Anava and Innovathèque funds. Nejia Gharbi emphasized that the CDC is committed to monitoring and controlling the implementation of the program, as well as providing support to beneficiary enterprises.

The regional tour will enable the CDC to gather feedback from project leaders, identify areas for improvement, and tailor its support to meet the unique needs of each region. A final meeting will be held in Tunis to review the tour's outcomes, present the proposals collected, and ensure their implementation. This approach reflects the CDC's commitment to a collaborative and responsive strategy.

Tunisia's economic development has been a focus of attention in recent years, with efforts to enhance its industrial capabilities and promote entrepreneurship. The CDC's initiative is part of a broader strategy to stimulate economic growth and create opportunities for innovative businesses. By supporting startups and SMEs, the CDC aims to contribute to the country's economic diversification and job creation.

The CDC's regional tour is a significant step towards fostering a culture of innovation and entrepreneurship in Tunisia. By engaging with regional stakeholders and providing targeted support, the CDC can help unlock the potential of innovative startups and SMEs, driving economic growth and development across the country. The tour's success will be closely watched, as it has the potential to make a positive impact on Tunisia's economy.
