Tunisia's National Tourism Office is participating in the 2026 Beijing Inbound and Outbound Tourism Fair, taking place from October 14 to 16 in Beijing, China. During the fair, the National Tourism Office will provide information on entry procedures to Tunisia, local tourism services, and available support and cooperation opportunities. This will contribute to developing tourism products tailored to the Chinese market and promoting exchanges between the two countries. The office will also explore cooperation and partnership opportunities with Chinese tourism professionals.
The visa exemption policy for Chinese tourists, which came into effect in September 2023, supports tourism exchanges between Tunisia and China. Chinese citizens with ordinary passports can enter Tunisia without a visa and stay for up to 90 days. In 2025, Tunisia welcomed approximately 28,000 Chinese tourists, a 19.3% increase compared to 2024.
The number of Chinese tourists visiting Tunisia during the first three months of 2026 grew by 12% compared to the same period in 2025. Additionally, the number of Chinese tourists arriving in Tunisia during the 2026 Chinese New Year holiday increased by 20% compared to the same period in 2025.
Tunisia prioritizes the Chinese market by organizing promotional activities, hosting Chinese media, influencers, and tourism professionals, and improving services for Chinese tourists. The University of Sousse is establishing a new Confucius Institute to provide specialized training in the Chinese language for tourism and contribute to developing expertise in tourism and cultural services.
The Beijing Inbound and Outbound Tourism Fair is a professional platform that brings together representatives of various tourist destinations, travel organizers, and buyers of travel services in China. The 2026 edition is expected to gather representatives from over 30 tourist destinations, around 200 exhibitors, and approximately 3,000 professionals, visitors, and buyers from China and abroad.
