The Tunisian financial sector is set to launch a new platform called "Loan of Honor" on Thursday, providing financial support to individuals and small to medium-sized enterprises. This initiative, approved by decree in July 2026, aims to offer loans with favorable terms, including zero interest rates and no complex guarantees. The platform is designed to support a wide range of borrowers, including individuals, small project owners, and small to medium-sized enterprises.

The "Loan of Honor" platform will offer loans with varying limits depending on the borrower's needs. Individuals can access loans of up to 5,000 dinars for personal and consumer expenses. Small project owners can obtain financing of up to 10,000 dinars to support their professional activities. Small to medium-sized enterprises and community companies can receive loans of up to 25,000 dinars to enhance their financial stability and support investment programs.

The "Loan of Honor" system is based on a set of direct facilitations aimed at easing access to financing. These facilitations include a zero percent interest rate, full exemption from bank interest and file study fees or additional commissions, and the elimination of guarantees. Banks will not require personal guarantees or collateral from borrowers. The repayment period will extend up to two years, with a possible six-month grace period.

The processing of loan applications will be based on a "priority according to registration precedence" system through a dedicated electronic platform. All banks are required to launch and operate this platform starting from October 1, 2026, to ensure transparency and equal opportunities for all applicants. The platform will enable borrowers to apply for loans and receive a response within ten working days from the date of submission.

The Banking and Financial Council has released a video to explain the practical procedures for benefiting from the "Loan of Honor." The council aims to provide clear information about the new lending platform and its benefits. The initiative is expected to support a wide range of borrowers and contribute to the country's economic development.

The launch of the "Loan of Honor" platform is part of Tunisia's efforts to enhance access to finance and support economic growth. The platform is expected to provide a new financing option for individuals and small to medium-sized enterprises, helping them to overcome financial challenges and achieve their goals.

The "Loan of Honor" platform will play a crucial role in promoting financial inclusion and supporting entrepreneurship in Tunisia. With its favorable terms and streamlined application process, the platform is likely to attract a large number of applicants. The initiative is a significant step towards promoting economic development and improving the lives of Tunisian citizens.
