The first annual conference of the Artificial Intelligence and Smart Computing Association began in Hammamet, Tunisia, bringing together students, researchers, and professionals to discuss artificial intelligence and its applications in healthcare. The event, which runs for two days, features participants from various institutions, including engineering students, media students, PhD candidates, investors, and university professors specializing in AI.
The conference aims to contribute to the development of research and innovation in AI and smart computing by providing a platform for dialogue, experience sharing, and collaboration between students, researchers, entrepreneurs, and experts. According to Meryem Keshou, a member of the organizing committee, the event seeks to foster interaction among participants and explore the potential of AI in various fields, particularly healthcare.
The choice of "AI and Health" as the main theme of the conference is driven by the desire to highlight the possibilities of leveraging AI in the healthcare sector. Keshou explained that the conference will feature discussions, meetings, and workshops on AI applications in healthcare, as well as the announcement of the results of a competition launched for engineering students and science students to develop solutions that demonstrate the potential of AI in healthcare.
The competition, which was launched a month before the conference, attracted 13 teams, and a jury composed of specialized university professors will evaluate the submitted projects. The winning teams will be announced during the conference, which also includes meetings between students and specialists, as well as doctors, to discuss the possibilities of benefiting from AI and developing solutions in the healthcare sector.
The conference program includes workshops on various AI-related topics, such as "Agent AI," language models, command engineering, and prompt engineering. These sessions aim to provide participants with hands-on experience and insights into the latest developments in AI and its applications.
The event is organized by the Tunisian branch of the Smart Computing Association, which is affiliated with the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers. The association's goal is to promote research and innovation in AI and smart computing, and the conference is part of its efforts to achieve this objective.
The conference in Hammamet is expected to contribute to the development of AI research and applications in Tunisia, particularly in the healthcare sector. By bringing together experts, researchers, and students, the event aims to foster collaboration and innovation in AI and its applications.
