Troops of the Joint Task Force (North-East), Operation Hadin Kai (OPHK), have achieved significant success in their operations against terrorism in Adamawa State. According to a statement issued by Capt. Mohammed Goni, Acting Military Information Officer, Headquarters, Joint Task Force (North-East), Operation Hadin Kai, on Thursday, 16 terrorists were neutralized between September 30 and October 1. The operations took place across Sector 4 of the operation in Adamawa State, resulting in the recovery of several weapons.

The troops ambushed a terrorist enclave in the Boima general area of Gombi Local Government Area, killing 16 terrorists. During the operation, the troops recovered three AK-47 rifles, two pump-action rifles, one Dane gun, six AK-47 magazines, and a belt of pump-action cartridges. This significant haul of arms is expected to disrupt the terrorists' ability to carry out further attacks in the region.

In addition to the ground operations, the Air Component of OPHK conducted a precision air strike on October 1. An intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance platform detected about 16 terrorists gathered with 15 motorcycles under a tree canopy in Sector 4. The target was struck at about 5:30 a.m. after positive identification, and a subsequent battle damage assessment confirmed the destruction of the target.

However, the insurgents also launched attacks on troop locations at 226 Battalion in Garkida and 232 Battalion in Garaha. The troops successfully repelled the attacks, forcing the insurgents to withdraw. Unfortunately, three soldiers were killed during the fighting, and the wounded soldiers were evacuated and are receiving medical treatment.

The task force has urged residents to remain vigilant and provide timely and credible information to security agencies as operations continue across the North-East. The follow-up exploitation and mop-up operations are ongoing in the affected areas to ensure that the terrorists are completely cleared from the region.

The successes of the troops in Adamawa State are a significant boost to the efforts to combat terrorism in Nigeria. The recovery of arms and the neutralization of terrorists are expected to disrupt the terrorist groups' ability to carry out further attacks. The military has continued to intensify its operations against terrorism in the North-East, and the latest successes demonstrate its commitment to protecting the region.

The Nigerian military has been working tirelessly to ensure the safety and security of the citizens, particularly in the North-East region, which has been affected by insurgency. The operations of the Joint Task Force (North-East), Operation Hadin Kai, have been instrumental in reducing the terrorist threat in the region. The military has called on residents to cooperate with security agencies to ensure that the terrorists are completely eliminated.
