The PBAT Door-to-Door Movement, led by its Grand Patron High Chief Government Ekpemupolo, also known as Tompolo, has launched a grassroots mobilisation campaign in Taraba State, calling on residents to support the re-election of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu. Represented by High Chief Kestin Pondi, Tompolo said Taraba is benefiting from the policies of the Tinubu administration and continuity is necessary to sustain the gains recorded so far. The movement's launch in Jalingo was attended by Governor Agbu Kefas and other notable figures.
Tompolo said Taraba is thriving due to President Tinubu's good reformation policies, which are moving the state forward. He stressed that another term for the President would ensure that civil servants continue to receive their salaries as and when due, while Governor Kefas would have more time to develop the state. Tompolo also attributed the reduction in challenges such as fuel queues and disruptions in university education to the policies of the Tinubu administration.
Governor Agbu Kefas said the people of Taraba are already witnessing the impact of the Tinubu administration through projects being implemented in the state. He said Taraba is ready to support the President's re-election and pledged massive support, assuring that the state would deliver 100 percent of the votes. Kefas also said his administration remains committed to the Renewed Hope Agenda of the President.
The National Coordinator of the PBAT Door-to-Door Movement, Sunday Asuku, said the group is in Taraba to extend its message of support for the President and the state governor. Asuku argued that abandoning the reforms of the Tinubu administration would be counterproductive and commended Kefas for his achievements in Taraba over the past three years.
The highlight of the event was the donation of 25 campaign vehicles, generators, and electronic speakers for grassroots mobilisation. Tompolo's donation was seen as a significant boost to the movement's campaign efforts in Taraba. The event had a significant turnout, reflecting grassroots support for the governor and the President.
Tompolo acknowledged that reforms come with challenges but said they require time to produce their full benefits. He urged supporters of the movement to take the campaign to every level of society, including homes, religious centres, wards, local government areas, and polling units. The movement's strategy is to mobilise support at the grassroots level.
The PBAT Door-to-Door Movement's campaign in Taraba is part of a larger effort to mobilise support for President Tinubu's re-election. With Tompolo's endorsement and donation of campaign vehicles, the movement is expected to gain momentum in the state. The President's re-election bid is expected to be a major contest in the 2027 presidential election.
