High Chief Government Ekpemupolo, popularly known as Tompolo, and Ekiti State Governor Biodun Oyebanji have urged voters in Ekiti to support President Bola Tinubu's re-election bid in 2027. The call was made during the inauguration of the Ekiti State chapter of the PBAT Door-to-Door Movement. Tompolo donated 25 vehicles to facilitate door-to-door campaigns across the state.

Tompolo, through his representative Chief Kestin Pondi, announced the donation, saying the vehicles would enable the movement to reach polling units, wards, local government areas, and constituencies. He described President Tinubu as a respected Yoruba leader, citing the President's economic reforms as a reason for support. Tompolo urged Ekiti residents to back Tinubu, whose reforms have strengthened government finances.

Governor Oyebanji expressed confidence in Tinubu's electoral prospects in Ekiti, challenging supporters to secure at least 80 per cent of the votes in the state. He recalled that the All Progressives Congress (APC) secured 85.7 per cent of the votes in the state during the last election. Oyebanji linked his administration's achievements to federal support, arguing that Tinubu's re-election would sustain development projects in Ekiti.

Oyebanji commended Tompolo for supporting the movement and providing vehicles for mobilisation activities. He described the donation as a boost to the campaign and noted that the level of commitment demonstrated by movement members posed a challenge to political mobilisation efforts in Ekiti. The governor urged voters to turn out in large numbers to support Tinubu.

National Coordinator of the PBAT Door-to-Door Movement, Sunday Asuku, highlighted President Tinubu's achievements and challenged opposition politicians to explain their records in public office. Asuku urged Ekiti residents to vote for Tinubu, citing the need to demystify propaganda peddled by naysayers. He argued that opposition politicians had nothing to say.

The event in Ado-Ekiti saw the unveiling of the 25 vehicles, which would facilitate outreach to religious communities and grassroots mobilisation. Tompolo urged movement leaders and members to make judicious use of the vehicles and campaign materials. The goal is to garner votes across the country to ensure President Tinubu completes his reformation agenda.
