The National Network of Women Farmers of Togo (RéNaFAT) has re-elected Mme Nakpergou Noumpoa as president of its 9-member bureau for a three-year term. The election took place during the network's ordinary and elective general assembly in Sokodé on November 4. Mme Nakpergou, who was the outgoing president of the Administrative Council, was reconducted to lead the network.

The general assembly allowed members to present the achievements of the previous term, adopt moral, technical, and financial reports, and elect new members to the Control and Surveillance Committee (CCS) under Mme Baba Méwounani's leadership. Participants from Togo's five regions defined the network's orientations, work plans, and 2027 vision. They also engaged with technical and financial partners and financial institutions.

During the previous term, RéNaFAT focused on strengthening its institutional capacity, supporting grassroots women's organizations, developing its services, and seeking solutions for sustainability. Members analyzed their strengths and weaknesses, reaffirmed their values and vision, and developed strategic and communication plans for 2025-2029. The elected members of the Administrative Council and CCS received leadership training.

RéNaFAT developed an economic model to explore alternative funding sources. The re-elected president, Mme Nakpergou, pledged to work with her team to mobilize more agricultural funding to develop women's enterprises. She emphasized the need for long-term, low-interest investments to acquire agricultural equipment.

Mme Nakpergou also promised to continue advocating for policies that facilitate women's access to land, enabling them to increase production. Tchimbiandja Yendoukoa Douti, prefect of Tchaoudjo and acting governor of the Central region, advised the new leadership and reiterated the regional and government authorities' commitment to supporting RéNaFAT.

Ayéfoumi Olou-Adara, president of the Administrative Council of the Togolese Coordination of Peasant Organizations and Agricultural Producers (CTOP), and Daro Ouro-Akondo, representative of the Tchaoudjo 1 mayor, encouraged the new leadership to promote rural women and the agricultural sector. They reaffirmed their institution's engagement to support RéNaFAT in achieving its objectives.

The event brought together women farmers from across Togo, who discussed their challenges and opportunities. The network aims to empower women farmers and promote sustainable agriculture practices in Togo.
